Reconciliation is not a destination, nor is it an outcome. It isn’t even a plan to be implemented through a bunch of tasks and actions. It is a genuine journey that centres on respect and reflection, a way of learning by seeking to fully understand, of forging authentic relationships built on shared values and aspirations. And it takes time. Time and effort. But mostly time. This is what I learned on what was one of the best cultural immersions I have ever had the privilege of participating in. A unique opportunity for Junction’s leaders to sit and share with First Nations leaders. Thank you, Ochre Dawn, for an experience that I’ll never forget.
